Hon. Paulina Núñez, Member of the IPPFoRB Steering Group, has been elected President of the Senate of Chile, becoming the 5th woman in the country’s history to hold this office. Her longstanding commitment to democratic values, human rights, and freedom of religion or belief has strengthened IPPFoRB’s leadership since she joined the Steering Group in 2023. Her election marks an important moment for women’s political leadership in Chile and across Latin America.
